EastEnders has confirmed the exit of groundbreaking character Felix Baker, after three years on the Square.
Felix, played by Matthew Morrison, joined the soap in 2022 as part of the Baker-Taylor extended family. The character made history as EastEnders’ first regular drag queen, known as Tara Misu.
Felix is one of the last remaining members of the Baker-Taylor clan, but bosses have reportedly decided to write out the character, with Morrison set to film his final scenes soon.

“We can confirm that Matthew will be leaving EastEnders later in the year,” a BBC spokeswoman told The Sun. “We wish him all the best for the future.”
Felix was first introduced as Mitch Baker’s nephew, arriving on the Square with his dad Avery and brother Finlay. He quickly showcased his confidence and witty humour, both as Felix and his drag persona Tara Misu.
At the time of his arrival, Morrison said in a statement: “I am blessed to have the opportunity to step into the heels of the fierce Tara Misu as part of my role on EastEnders.
“It’s a privilege to represent the LGBTQIA+ community and to showcase the creative art of drag to both viewers at home and the residents of Walford.”
The actor later opened up about his character, calling it a “privilege” to take on the role of a drag artist. He shared: “Drag is an artform that I really admire and I take my hat off to everyone that does it.”
“I think Tara is going to bring a lot of fun and colour and excitement to The Square as well and really shake things up a little bit,” Morrison added.
