It wasn’t long ago that Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) were sat gazing over their fields and contemplating life without their beloved farm in Emmerdale.

Caleb Miligan (William Ash) had conned her into selling the farm by secretly destroying her business as part of his plan to ruin Kim Tate (Claire King), but just as she was on the cusp of having to hand over the keys and the cows to Kim, Kim pulled out of the deal and thwarted Caleb’s plan.

It had been a heartbreaking time for Moira, but she had the chance to rescue the business and turn everything around. She even kept the place afloat while battling her brain tumour.

But now it might finally be the end of the road.

On the day of John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) paintballing stag do, Moira discovers a serious leak in the slurry tank, and the blame immediately rests with Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

This brings great joy to his rival John – which is a rather suspicious reaction. Could this have been a revenge move after Mack uncovered John’s lies?

If it is a revenge move, it’s not Mack who ends up coming off worse. Cain is forced to give Moira some devastating news – the leak has affected the village’s main water supply.

The reason this news is so bad is that if it gets out, her business is sunk.

But before Moira has time to think about how to manage this terrible PR issue, there’s news that there is a victim of the slurry tank leak. Vic Sugden’s (Isabel Hodgins) young son Harry is rushed to hospital in an ambulance having consumed some of the contaminated water.

This will likely be the end of Butlers Farm as Moira knows it. But who is to blame for the leak?

With John so pleased that Mack gets the blame, could he be behind it?
