Last week in Emmerdale, Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) told friend Ella Forster (Paula Lane) that she’s being blackmailed by someone online.

And now, fans have seemingly worked out who is behind the terrifying texts.

In her chat with Ella, Manpreet admitted that she started posting pictures of herself on social media once she discovered ex Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) had slept with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).

She then made the leap to a site similar to OnlyFans and began sharing more intimate photographs of herself.

Manpreet then began receiving worrying messages from someone who had accessed her profile. Ella, wanting to help, suggested deleting her account.

Manpreet did this, but the blackmailer then revealed they had taken screenshots of her images, and said removing her profile wouldn’t stop them.

Fearful her secret will be revealed to the entire village, Manpreet is on edge waiting for more messages and instructions from the mysterious culprit.

But just who could it be?

Who’s blackmailing Manpreet in Emmerdale?

At first, fans of the ITV soap wondered if it was Ella. However, they’ve now realised this cannot be, as Ella was sat right beside Manpreet when texts were being sent through to her phone.

This has left them with only one other option.

Meena Jutla.

Manpreet’s crazed sister Meena was responsible for killing locals Leanna Cavanagh, Ben Tucker and Andrea Tate.

She was sent to prison in 2022 for these murders and a long list of her other crimes, but could she be working with someone on the outside to make Manpreet’s life a living nightmare?

‘It’s a long shot probably but I hope it’s Meena!’, one user of X said.

Echoing this theory, another fan of the soap wrote: ‘Okay not Ella blackmailing Manpreet then. So onto the next obvious one. Mean Meena.’

‘Would/could it be Mad Meena ? She is the type to have a phone even inside’, this audience member wondered.

Meena is a name that often crops up when a mysterious new storyline begins. Last year, before Ella’s secret was revealed, fans of the ITV soap became utterly convinced she was somehow connected to Manpreet’s sibling.

In upcoming episodes, attention will turn to another person in the Dales who could be secretly in contact with Manpreet.

Up at Home Farm, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) is sensing something isn’t quite right in his and Dawn’s (Olivia Bromley) marriage.
