Yellowstone, 1923, Or Hell Or High Water – Brutal Opinions On Taylor Sheridan’S Best Work Proves His Legacy Is Truly Damaged

Taylor Sheridan originally debuted as an actor in the entertainment industry, but he has long grown since then, establishing a fair reputation for himself as one of the finest storytellers in all of Hollywood. With works like Yellowstone, 1923, and Hell or High Water, he not only curates interesting storylines but also perfectly incorporates that unpredictable element in his projects.

And yet, as much as he has garnered tremendous acclaim and respect for himself, that ‘Sheridan fever’ seems to be dying down now. From the likes of how fans are now talking about his projects — the past ones and the latest ones — and pointing out the clear, comparing line between them, even his best works feel like his legacy has been truly damaged.

Taylor Sheridan’s pieces, like Yellowstone, Landman, etc., have brutal fan opinions

Over the years since he garnered acclaim as a visionary, especially with 2015’s Sicario, which had him serving as a writer for the plot, Taylor Sheridan has seriously evolved as a storyteller. He is famously credited for curating exceptionally commended projects like the entire Yellowstone franchise with its spin-offs, Wind River, and Special Ops: Lioness, among others.

However, his latest works don’t appear to fit in with fans all that well. This is evident from all the opinions fans now have on his works, as some of them were made evident in a Reddit post. While fans have been praising him for his old works like Hell or High Water and the 1923 season one, their opinions have drastically changed while discussing his more recent works.

On the one hand, some are praising his movies and calling his television shows sh-tty. However, many others, on the other hand, are claiming his previous projects, like 1883 and Tulsa King, were sincerely more amusing than the more recent ones, like Yellowstone season 5 and 1923 season 2, are actually disappointing.

All of these opinions, arguably, are more than enough to emphasize the fact that even though Sheridan’s early years as a storyteller in Hollywood had him birthing some of the most entertaining, epic pieces of all time, his performance in recent years has seriously deteriorated. This has led to fans preferring his old works over the new ones, including even new seasons.

Have Taylor Sheridan’s latest works lost that charm that had fans previously amused?

It seems like it. Even though Taylor Sheridan’s newest works like Landman, the latest seasons of Yellowstone, and the second season of 1923 have entertained a lot of viewers, they fail to live up to the legacy he has already established for himself. To say the least, these have been so questionable that fans have even called them out for their lazy and poor-quality writing.

For instance, the series finale for Yellowstone was brutally criticized by fans for what felt like a rushed ending with underwhelming closure on the key storylines, especially with Jamie’s story. Then there’s the backlash around 1923 season 2, which came because Sheridan extended the story a bit too much and even hit a bit too hard with the tragic element.

Landman, as well, had quite a few criticisms surrounding it, with respect to the characters that the brainbox introduced in it, especially the female ones.

All of these instances are more than enough to emphasize the fact that Taylor Sheridan has seriously lost his charm with his projects that previously left his fans amused, tainting his own legacy. And it’s presumably all because he has been working on one too many projects at the same time, leading to accusations from fans of lazy writing — though the primary issue can only be truly caught by his die-hard fans.
